There are a few things to highlight from the week and looking ahead into next week and the rest of term!
First a huge thank you from us all at MOL for continuing to support your children with their learning at home in so many different ways. We appreciate the challenge juggling normal day-to-day life with supporting with learning at home, and have been so awed by the creativity and commitment we see in the many pictures/drawing/videos/writing/meet chats over the course of the week.
Next week we continue with our MOL World Tour with teachers presenting the country of the week for a final time. The week after that children will be able to choose the country they would like to travel to – you’ll hear more about this next week. I’d like to thank all the staff involved in creating these amazing world tour slideshows and videos – I certainly feel like I have learnt a lot and had lots of fun over the past weeks on tour!
Please remember to complete the transition surveys issued on Tuesday. We will keep these open until Monday June 8th at 10am to give everyone time to complete theirs. We do really appreciate you giving the time to complete these questionnaires, but value your views and thoughts as we plan and move into transition at this time.

It’s not too late to sign up to the 30 Days Wild if you haven’t already done so as a family – this provides another amazing reason to get outdoors together as a family – with your Random Acts of Wildness!
Planning and prep for schools re-opening
The next Parent Council will be on Thursday 18th June at 6.30pm. Hopefully at this point we will have more to share with you about what school provision with the blended model will look like at Milton of Leys. We know you will be keen to know what this will look like for your child and we will continue to update as soon as we can.
Highland Council guidance so far issued about June is that next week the HT, DHT and one member of the clerical team are allowed into the school building, in the mornings only. During the week, we will use Highland Council risk assessments to risk assess and begin planning for the phased return to schools on August 11th in our own setting.
Please see this letter below from Paul Senior, Executive Chief Officer, Education and Learning, Highland Council. Parental Engagement will begin next week meeting with the Highland Council Parent Partnership.
Please note Highland Council confirmed this week that schools will not issue reports for ELC or Primary pupils this term. More information about the curriculum and planning for the next phase will be provided by the authority soon. Meantime, please rest assured that we will continue to plan and provide for your children following guidance and informed by your feedback in the best possible way as we continue through this period of school closure and into the blended phase planned for August. Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any queries or concerns that you want to raise.
Meantime we have exciting dates/events to celebrate our end of session together.
