How brilliant that we can reveal that for the MOL-athon challenge for one week our grand total is 8,739.88km. This includes Strava app kms and plus journeys counted up and sent in to us by non-Strava app users in the school community. We knew the target of 10,000km was ambitious and we were not far off the total in the event. This is such a wonderful achievement for the school, and we have seen from the many different pictures and comments that children with their families have really enjoyed the challenge together. It has taken us outdoors and learning more about the world around us in our community together. The weather has also been very kind to us recently!

We would like to say a. big thank you to everyone who took part. We’re glad so many parents and family members were able to join alongside the pupils from the school.

Given that we now have more than 170 members in the Milton of Leys Strava club, we thought we could extend the challenge for the school. From our current total, it won’t take us long to reach the North Pole now and so we thought, what if we keep going and go right round the world? To complete our round the world challenge, we need to tot up 40,000km in total, or just over 31,000km from today. We have five weeks until the end of term and so are excited to be able to make this total together. As before, for non-strata app users please keep a weekly note of your kms travelled as a household and we will add these to the Strava total. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m quite looking forward to a walk in cooler conditions again now! Happy healthy moving for MOL😀
