The Easter holidays are coming to an end and I wanted to send a message hoping that you have enjoyed a peaceful holiday at home. We are expecting to begin Term 4 tomorrow, Tuesday April 14th, continuing with our provision of online learning at home as schools nationwide remain closed for the foreseeable future.
This first week back, the whole school will be sharing a common learning focus based on e-safety. Your child will find more information about this learning on their google classroom as before. During this week, we will work on our own updated guidance on learning at home based on any new authority or national guidance at the start of term. I would expect to share this with you by the end of this week. This will include decisions as a school informed by your views shared through the parent survey. Thank you to the many who responded to this – together we can plan the best learning outcomes for the children during this time of school closure.
Once schools restart tomorrow, there will be an expectation for children to register again on a daily basis. We will continue with our system of online registration as before by 9.30am. The majority of respondents to the survey (85%) were happy with this system. We are of course really keen to work closely and supportively with parents and recognise that during this time of school closure there are many new pressures for families, including work commitments and childcare. Please do not hesitate to contact either myself or your child’s class teacher, if we can provide any further support for you and your family at this stage. This could include letting your teacher know in advance if work commitments/shift patterns mean needing to register at a different time.
We were so touched by the end of last term by the many, many messages of thanks and support to us as a school as we began our provision of learning at home. Please continue to keep in contact so that we can work together for the very best for our MOL children.
With best wishes, Mrs Snedden
