End of term news…

It’s hard to believe we’re already at the October holidays! It’s been a busy term with lots of the fun and adventure that you expect here at MOL.

At a recent celebration assembly we had a huge variety of success to celebrate. All these individual pupils were nominated for their effort in class with learning and positive attitude. Pupils were recognised for ‘putting 100% into everything’, marvellous moving around the school, being kind and helping others. This is so fantastic to hear.

And finally, we have also had special mention of some of our pupils who have worked hard to fundraise for fellow pupil, Sophia. Ryan (P5/6) raised more than £750 by smashing his target of climbing 25,000cms, Cerys (P7) raised £50 by baking and selling her cakes in her street. and Katie (P4/5) raised £40 running the Baxter’s 5km. Well done!

All across the school from P1 – P7  there has been a huge amount of learning, including thinking about the world around us and our impact on the climate. Our youngest pupils have been learning about how to keep our ocean animals safe by reducing pollution. These are fantastic learning opportunities as we think and learn more about being sustainable.

Of course we also had our fantastic MOL MUDder just this week. We can announce that the total is currently running at £3246.00. We know there is still more to collect, and if you have still to bring your sponsor  money in to school, please don’t worry, just bring it in after the holidays.

You may also have noticed our newly painted raised beds in the courtyard and re-structured willow dome. We owe a huge thank you to Faith Works for all their support to the school – what a wonderful job, thank you!

We hope the sun shines on everyone and look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday October 28th re-charged and raring to go for Term 2. Happy Holidays!
