New Sandbox!

At Milton of Leys we are continuing to develop our loose parts play opportunities. Last week we opened our new mud, sand and gravel play area. We have re-purposed three of our raised beds in order to make a separate play space for pupils to work with mud, sand and gravel during break and lunch times.

We would like to say a special thank you to Inshes Church Faith Works Group for helping us to dig out the raised bed!

Thank you to Ross’s Quarry for an excellent trade deal on sand and gravel.

Thank you to Mr George Borthwick for transporting the sand and gravel from the quarry.

Finally thank you to Alasdair our night time steward as well as Kirsty (head girl) and Archie (head boy) for shoveling 1 ton of sand followed by a second ton of gravel into each raised bed. Great team work!

As you can see from the pictures our pupils are really enjoying the sand!
