Basketball Brilliance!

Wow! What a day at the finals of the Inverness Primary Schools League at Millburn Academy MOL lifted 2 titles from 3 finals!

U10’s won by a massive 18-1 against Holm with Coach Gordon leading the team.  Awesome well done to Jacob who was selected for the All-star Team for the league.

Our U12 boys were crowned league Champions from 6 school teams having finished undefeated all year – in the Playoff Finals MOL took an early lead then Balloch made a come back but then MOL pulled away in the 4th quarter for a comfortable win in the end.  Congrats to Callum who made the League All-star team!

U12 girls finished runners up to Holm – again playing against 6 league teams MOL qualified for the final in second place in the league and they punched above their weight and led the final all the way to the 3rd quarter in the final but the Holm girls had a stronger finish and they took the win.  Well done to Holly who made the League All-star team!

A fabulous strong display of individual basketball skill and team work showed the progress our players have made throughout the year.  I am amazingly proud of how the teams have come on and how they love their basketball! 🏀🏀😍

Massive thanks to fellow coaches Alex and Gordon – our teams wouldn’t have been as successful without you!  And a big thanks also to the young Highland Basketball Crew members who refereed and officiated the games – great to see some MOL alumni – Eilidh, Owen, Nilavan and Luke – volunteer to help the next generation of ballers come through!

Well done to all players and to those team mates not in the team photos who have played in the league this season.  You are all my Champions 😀🏀

So far the Mixed MOL JnNBA team is undefeated and they play again this Thursday in the round robin league section of the competition – good luck to all!   GO MOL LAKERS!
