Breakfast Club During Severe Weather

As you will be aware, the school did not open last Monday due to bad weather and this gave us an opportunity to review our Bad Weather procedures across school and ELC.

As a result of this, we have decided that in the event of severe winter weather the following procedures will apply:

  • Where there is a severe weather situation and it is unclear as to whether the school will open, we will cancel Breakfast Club by 7.30am. Please note that when the Breakfast Club is closed, this does not necessarily mean that the school or ELC will be closed. This will allow us time to consider whether the school is going to be able to open either at the normal time of 9am or a little later, particularly in relation to staff being able to make it into school.
  • A decision will be made as to whether the school/ELC is open or closed by 8am at which point, the usual places will be updated to let parents know about the decision to open or close
