Reminder to all Parents to Check Dates on Medicines Sent to School

As you may have seen or heard recently in the news, there has been some coverage of the shortage of Epipens which has prompted the UK Government to advise that in situations where an EpiPen has passed the indicated date, it can be safely used for a short period beyond this date.

This has prompted the school to remind parents that all medicines sent into school should be regularly checked for ‘use by dates’ either by contacting the office to ask for the medication to be checked or by calling in in person to take a look.

Unlike Epipens, it is recommended that most medications are only used when within the date indicated.
