MOL Basketball Boys teams break 100 buckets in day 3 of the Highland Primary Schools league at Millburn Academy. The boys P6/7 teams, sponsored by Milton of Leys Pharmacy, hit 101 points across their 4 games in a single day!
MOL Boys first team was dominant on court demonstrating excellent team play with intuitive passing and whilst remaining calm and focused on shooting techniques they were able to convert a high proportion of shots. Captain Nilavan and Vice-Captain Jamie led Owen, Arran, Fraser and Jack to victory in both their games on Monday. In his maiden game for the first team, Jack played well making a good contribution to team play showing growth in his ball handling skills and positional play on court. After 3 league days, the team’s strong court performances have placed them in the top spot of the league standings but it’s not a foregone conclusion as to who will be crowned champions on the final league day on the 13 February, as we share 17 league points with Drakies but with a cushion of 16, we led the way on points difference. The final day will be a nail biter to see who lifts the trophy!
MOL Boys second team have now scored almost double the number of points over 3 league days than they did in the whole of last season. Sitting on a credible 59 points, Captain Reuben and Vice-Captain Kian have led Corey, Harris, Tyler, Ben, Drew and Caleb to surpass last year’s total of 32 points. A training focus on ball handling and shooting mechanics has been key in individual player’s progress, allowing the emergence of team skills and positional game strategies. Their progress is demonstrated on court with team connections allowing for more shooting opportunities. Currently, sitting 6th equal in the league, we are looking to secure our second win in the final league day and push past double the points scored last season.
Rocking our smart red and white team kits sponsored by Milton of Leys Pharmacy, the boys teams are up for the challenges of the final league day. Come along to Millburn Academy on 13 Feb at 4 pm to support our teams in their drive for league successes.
