We got the following report from the recent Hockey Festival which involved P7 pupils at Millburn Academy.
On Wednesday 2nd November, Millburn Academy hosted a Hockey Transition Festival for the ASG primary 7 pupils. The Festival was run by the Millburn Academy Higher Sports Leaders alongside Miss Gibb. All of the participants had a great day while getting engaged with the games as well as introducing themselves to others. The players were divided into ten teams, each with nine players. These teams included players from each of the six primary schools. The day was a success as they were encouraged to communicate with each other during and between the games. This was a good method for them to “break the ice” with new peers. The pupils will now be more familiar with their future year group which will hopefully make their first few weeks at Millburn more pleasant as well as making their transition smoother.
