Even More SUCCESS-This Time Hockey!!!

I am delighted to be able to announce even more sporting success for MOL…Below is a brief report from Coach Deakin:

After donning the under armour and woolly hats, and some people even had ski gloves on we were ready to take part in the bi-annual primary hockey festival on a very wintery Saturday morning. We entered a MoL team and also several of our players played in a joint Mol and Inshes team called Molins.

In our group section we had a number of very competitive teams. The team showed great team work, lovely flowing hockey with some good technical ability and excellent work rate throughout the games. They came away with winning the first 2 games 2-0, and in the next game they made the crucial winning goal in the last minute of the game. This made them top in the group section with them winning all three games.

In the finals they were in the section with the top 4 teams of the tournament, they were Badenoch Tigers, Tore A and Dalneigh. With the success of the group section they went into the game against Badenoch relaxed but soon found out the game play had lifted and were down 2 goals in the first 4 minutes, once everyone had settled into the game and everyone had lifted their game play they were soon putting pressure on the oppositions defence and were unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions, with the final score being 2-0 to Badenoch. With the team not wanting for this to happen again they soon regained their flowing hockey and great movement of the ball and came away 2-0 over Tore A and the team greatly deserved the 3-1 victory over Dalneigh.

In the overall standing the MoL team came 2nd in the tournament and this was well deserved as everyone worked hard throughout the whole day and showed their commitment to the team. Well done everyone!!!

MoL team was –  Andrew B, Cameron, Jack H, Daniel McK, Calum M, Sarah O, Jessica M and Emma D.
