Martin Luther King Facts….Leave them Here!

At this week’s assembly, we were looking at the life and times of Martin Luther King to coincide with Martin Luther King Day on 21st January. The children were told that if they found any interesting facts about him, they could share these with the rest of the school and this is the place to do so!   1. Martin Luther King jr was born Michael King jr but changed his name to Martin Luther King in honour of the German protestant leader Martin Luther (1483 – 1546). Martin Luther King’s father was also born Michael King, and also changed his name.
