The Day the Warriors Came to MOL!!!

This morning, we were absolutely thrilled to have a visit from a Kenyan Troupe, The Osiligi Maasai Warriors, who wowed us with their singing, dancing, jumping and ‘real-life’ stories about life and culture back in Africa. They arrived dressed in full warrior outfit complete with spears, shields and head gear. Once the children got over the initial shock, they loved the hour long performance! Some of the children (and a couple of poorly chosen staff!) even joined in the fun! Apart from the enjoyment, I hope that all of the children learned something about a completely different culture and way of life and that they will always remember the day that warriors ‘invaded’ Milton of Leys!

Please leave a comment to tell us what you thought of the performance!

  1. I really enjoyed the warriors visit today!! It was funny when they were making noises and jumping. It was very interesting.

    • Thanks for the comment….I’m still feeling giddy from all that jumping around! I’ve just watched the video clip of me jumping and I do look rather SILLY!!!

  2. Wonderful Milton of Leys! The warriors outfits and jewellery looked beautiful. You all looked like you were having a lot of fun. Yes Luke, I think you are right; you definitely have better dance better moves than Mr Quigley!
